Sign-up Here!
This year's Solo & Ensemble is on Saturday, April 1, 2017!
The NEW deadline for submissions is Friday, March 10, 2017!
Use the form below to sign up for an ensemble of instruments. You are already signed-up for one solo, so you do not need to do that here. You only need one entree per group, so make sure that you have a confirmation from every member before entering anyone. Your entrees will be sent to a Google Sheet that Mr. Foster will send in to W.T.S.B.O.A.

About Solo & Ensemble
You need two things for each performance that must be prepared before the performance day:
Arlington High School hosts Solo & Ensemble every year. Students will come to cafeteria to set-up and warm-up around 7:30am. At 8am, our school's time starts. All AMS Students will head to the judging rooms at that time.
Students can choose to play their solo(s) or ensemble(s) in any order. Follow directions from the other directors in the hall and read the signs on the doors to find the correct rooms. There are areas dedicated to brass, woodwind, percussion, and mixed ensembles exclusively.
The performances are not blind. The judges will watch you and actually work with you to help you improve. To get the most out of your experience, respectfully listen to everything the judge has to say. Write down any corrections or suggestions on the music, so you remember.
- Copy of the Music: This copy is for the judges. Every measure must be numbered. If you are performing as an ensemble, you must have a score, not a collection of parts. Talk to Mr. Foster if you have trouble finding a score. You may not get this copy back.
- Judge's Score Sheet: The Score Sheet will tell the judges who you are and where to send your score. There are different sheets for winds and percussion, and solos and ensembles. There are hard copies in the band room and digital copies at the bottom of this page. Fill out the top with your name(s) and instrument(s) before the performance.
